Abstract:The historical remainders of Nanhan (the southern part of the territory in Han Dynasty) Royal Garden and of "Nangong Yaozhou" in West Lake are the one of the earliest relics of existing gardens. Their historic values are far greater than that of the four famous gardens in southern part of China in Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a wise policy to take the advantage of the rectification and decoration of Shuyuan's (old-time schools) nearby, laying the emphasis on the full recognition of its importance of gardens, and giving priority to the protection end expansion of the project.
